yup, its possible that some mainboards only allow DDR3 (i actually had it this weekend when i was building a pc, store clerck gave me DDR2 instead of DDR3, so i had to return to the store for something trivial)

also, if you scroll to the specs table, you'll see this
Memory Type: DDR3
