I generally will use this desktop as my primary gaming machine (Duh).

I will play MMO's mostly/Sims 3 and use Photoshop and generally do my artsy projects on this machine.

I would like to know what is overkill and what isn't exactly up to speed advice advice advice.....

PS: I don't really care about which sound card is on my system everything sounds the same to me and I'm kinda iffy on the mother board from reading another thread on this section.

Mainly quoting your post to make easy observations on the parts you have picked.

You only have 1 hard drive at the moment, I assume this is a caviar blue. It's a good choice, but a bit small tbh. You might want to look into the 1TB option, (eg, caviar green), which doesn't cost much more for double the space. If you don't mind the internal sound then it should be ok. The motherboard is a good one for it's price, I don't see why people think it's bad. Has some nice opportunities for overclocking on it. I would highly recommend overclocking this system, it should be able to manage 3.8ghz.
