Mine normally do, but something about the Blood Dragon Helm bugs out and doesn't. Also I just don't like helms period. Granted some of them can look alright, but others (looking at you Mage's Cowl) look utterly retarded.
There is a fairly long thread about it on Bioware's official forums and one of the devs said he wanted there to be the option to turn them off as well, but with bug fixes and future DLC's in a works it may be awhile.
P.S. They have a 2 year plan of DLC for Dragon Age, so looking forward to enjoying content from them for awhile.
