Ah crap, I'll admit I forgot about posting extra help to here haha. I posted my same build on another forum and was spending more time there.
Anyway, as for games being played, I'd probably be playing more of Empire Total Wars since it kicked the hell out of my current computer, and EVE Online. Those are the two MAIN ones. I've put off buying most new games just because I know my machine can't handle them. So I'm sure once I get a new rig my views will change.
But my updated build isn't too much off from what you guys have posted, I don't think.
I changed the Thermaltake V9 Steel ATX Mid Tower to an
Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower - $99.99 with $40.00 instant savings.
Changed the video card from the Radeon 4870 to a
Radeon HD 5770 - $174.99 - This will be a SAPPHIRE as soon as it is back in stock from Newegg.
Changed the power supply from a Broadway Com Corp 650W to a
CORSAIR 750W -$109.99 with $70 instant and a $20 mail in rebate.
Changed the AMD Athlon X2 7850 2.8GHz to
AMD Phenom II X3 720 2.8GHz
With my new changes my cost went to $797.44 for the computer including shipping.
I'll look into the other changes you guys have suggested and change my build accordingly.
So far my rig is as follows:
Case-
Antec Nine Hundred ATX Mid Tower
Hard Drive -
WD 640GB 7200RPM SATA
Motherboard -
GIGABYTE 790X AMD
Video Card -
XFX Radeon HD 5770 - NOTE: This will be SAPPHIRE as soon as it is back in stock.
Power Supply -
CORSAIR 750W
Memory -
G.SKILL 4GB (2x2GB.) DDR2 SDRAM
Processor -
AMD Phenom II X3 720 2.8GHz Triple Core
@lazyluong - I already have bought the new monitor last week, ASUS 23.6" LCD, and that is what prompted me to buy a new machine as it seemed plugging it in my monitor got a mind of its own and started failing my hardware (lol, doubtful but the day I plugged it in, I had failing memory and my PSU is going crazy, its too good for the current hardware, I'm tellin you!). So monitor isn't a concern. Though I will likely have to upgrade my OS eventually if I ever want to take advantage of more then 3GB of RAM unfortunately...
