agree with the single rail so much less of a hassle in determining watts and amps is sufficient, lol.
the 5770 uses roughly 100w idling, and 200w on load, which can goes all the way up to about 350w on load if OC or corssfire which is ~30amp. luckily the video card draw power from 2 cables, which i totally forgot to include in my calculation. yea, dumb mistake. anyways, with 2x 12v rail @25amp seem to total up to 50amp which actually tends to be a few 10-15% lower @ ~40 amp. i guess it is enough for 1 video card OC or corssfire but at factory speed.
it really depends if he wants to cross-fire both at oc speed or not, but base on his budget, but i will guess he will get one at normal speed just to be on the safe side so it should sufficient for his PC. so base on this, either Antec TruePower New TP-650 650W or Corsair 750TX 750W is good enough. as for me, i like to be safe and get the Corsair 850TX and not worry about power shortage for future updates or OCing, since history tend to show advance technology likes to be power hungry. I will admit i was surprise on how much lesser power that the 5770 consumed compared to the previous few cards.
