As for the spending the money, movies have always been a means to escape reality. Our homes for the most part embody our realities, so getting out of the house and going to a movie is part of the escape we always seek. It's also a social experince that we can share we friends of loved ones we go with.

Okay hold up.

We don't just shell out shit because we want to get paid. If I wanted to do that I'd work for Troma (though they do camp better than anyone). There is a lot of effort put into most of these films, and even if the main character of a movie the explosion, that takes a lot of time and money to pull off.

We make this 'shit' because the big wigs at the Studio figure their is a market for it, and some Director has a vision of how the script will come together.

We make it, because you say you want to see it.

A great movie to watch that tells with this a little bit is a little jem called "The Kid Stays in the Picture." A biopic about Robert Evens one of the great producers of our time. If you are interested in the film industry at all, I recommend it.
You admit you make crap movies, I admit I don't pay for them.

I'd say we are even.
