Dude no ones yelling at you. Calm down a couple notches. Anyway, as my teacher who failed me three times always told me and I never listened said, "The only stupid question is the one not asked".
So if you think its gonna be 100 hours of explanation, then so be it. Just write down a few issues you are having, well try to get you to understand them the way we understand them, and then well move on. Its that simple. Your 14, so you have plenty of time, years actually, before you need to worry about a job programming wise or college wise, so I think we could cover a few hundred hours of explanation if thats what it will take. Ask away.

Ok It really depends on your reading level, cuz if you cant read at a 11th grade level the book is not good what so ever(thats why i said that)
Im 14 i found that website to be the best sorce of info so try that its the best, then start picking up books from your public library or Barn & nobles about c++ witch personly i think will be outdated by the time we are 16 lol so i am just going to wait tell i go to the Collage in Tempe Arizona ![]()

To tell you the truth, I think all those books are complete crap, and are too general or lack organization for someone who wants to self-educate themselves. I want to suggest the 2 best books I have ever come in contact with that I believe are far more superior to the rest.
(1) Accelerated C++ - I think this book is best suited for people who are good independent learners and can handle following through their lessons with personal exercises of their own. This book is a little faster paced when teaching you the concepts of the language, but explains them in great detail and makes sure you have fully grasped the concept before moving on. (2) C++ Without Fear - This is the book I have been using to study the basics and more advanced topics in the C++ programming language. I think this book is suited for people who have a strong motivation to learn C++ and are still being introduced to self education. This book includes a lot of directions in how to grasp the basics and follow through with exercises. Later, the book incorporates what you have learned with new lessons and gives deeper explanation and use, of concepts from previous lessons. To: Jimmy I am not shocked that you miss the basic concepts of the C++ language because the studying of it requires patients, maturity, self-discipline, and a lot of free time. The way you have been publicly presenting yourself, responding to useful and somewhat constructive criticism is unacceptable. Through the way you have been describing your opinions, yourself, and your interpretations of others on this subject, has proven to me, and probably many others who have read this topic that you are unfit at this point of time to approach this goal of yours. Your total lack of respect and patients has become a burden on others, and is offensive. I hope that you may one day, reflect on this situation and maybe learn something from it. I think at your young age, you have a lot of maturing to do, but of course that comes with time and you have many years to prepare before you are ready to come back to this subject again. Until Next Time, -PB |
