I'm a new member here but I've been seeing lots of people saying that Runescape sucks. I'd like to say that sure Runescape has some flaws but doesnt everygame. I mean Runescape has to be like the best browserbased MMO out there. Sure that noise when your fightng is pretty annoying and the graphics are sub-par but, the quest are challenging the, events are fun and pk'ing is thrilling. Not to mention that even with its low graphical quality it still manages to attract so many gamers from MMO nubs to long-time gamers. And so what if the non-member world is small, its only 5$ to become a member (and a small additional charge if you send through the mail) So tell me; "What is so bad about Runescape?!".(Although traditionally I am a GuildWars player I really want to know why people dislike RS

My problem with runescape is that almost 45% of everything in it is off-limits unless you shell out cash. Even if its 5 bucks. That and the fact you cant run forever -.- Im probally forgetting ALOT of stuff, but feh. There are better games (even better browser based games). Try Kingdom of Loathing. Google it. IMHO the most innovative browser based game ever created

Hah I tried that Kingdom of Loathing game, its hilarious even the rules are funny and thats someting hard to accomplish

but, still it compares neither graphically nor with the depth of storyline that RS has but its much more funny

Imo. RS is one of the worst graphic game i ever played ....

You should never have to argue that RS sucks. It just does. Graphics, storyline, it all.

To put it bluntly, RuneScape itself is sub-par, the whole game is so half-assed it makes me laugh. Not to mention, the community is not the best in the world, the music and sound effects are annoying, there a very few customizable options, and unless you pay for it, you get a restriction on the size of the world. Face it, there are better browser games out there. And over-all, just better games. There are games you can download smaller than RuneScape that are tons better. =/

And the storyline, it sucks, even the names for the locations, I mean...Tutorial Island...what..?

Actully non members is only about 15% of it. It is the best browser based tho.

Sure, the graphics are horse crap compared to games like Guildwars or WoW

but its a browser game and I've been searching for games that are better than rs with a small download and I still havent found one. I mean come on if runescape had graphics and sounds like gw or wow it would definetly be one of the best MMO's out there (imo) and to really say that Runescape sucks you would have to become a member because theres way more to do in members world than non members. And second like every game has a nub that will spam you to ask for gold thats what the iggy list is for and if you dont like the sounds theres always cutting off the music and playing your own

and furthermore theres always room for criticism in any game theres always gonna be some haters

but the fact of the matter is; im sure that the hundreds of thousands of people who play Runescape everyday would have to disagree with all the anti-rs comments

Not really, I know ten people RL that have played RuneScape for years, and say that they only play it because their connections suck, and they have nothing better to do. And really, that's what I think RS is, a time-passer.

The way I see it is that theres a solution for every problem. They have a slow connection get a faster internet, I hear that people pc is fast and its cheap anyways, if they're still playing theres another reason. There are other games to play becuase if theyre just playing to past time why not play a console game or something other than a MMO because the truth is runescape doesnt suck, well the graphics and sounds do but thats it and thats only the opinion of a couple of people when you get the opinion of 100,000 that you have something something to ride on but until then everything else is just a wasted breath
