You choose 1 race 1 base class 1 class and up to 4 displines
The max possible level is 75.

Player vs player system is balanced.
No matter if you choose to be close combat or archer or even mage you will be capable of being on even footing.

Shadowbane is mmorpg about massive pvp combat.
Actually let me repeat this... If you want a grind fest go else where... Shadowbane is about PVP from beginning of your toons life to max level and beyond.
Build citys and siege your enemys.
Setup a shop in your city for your guild members can buy gear or have you craft specfic gear they require if they posses the resources.
If your looking for a mmorpg where you don't have to watch your back and can carebear for hours on end without worring about pvp....
this game isn't for you. Expect pvp around every corner.

Daily defend your mines (to bring resources into your city)
or attack enemy mines and take control of them.
