When the first wave of infectees hit, he was only nine. and within 7 years, he fell in love, and eventually found out that she was infected. they were in love with each other but eventually she was killed by enforcers of the border after a year. This enraged luke greatly, and he eventually killed 9 of the 10 security men that had killed his girlfriend. he was deemed a criminal and fled to a town, and found out he was infected a month after his girlfriend had been killed by a doctor.
