A sprite is a term to describe all 2d graphics.
Since you using an orpg editor (elysium and all the rest of those editors make orpgs, not mmorpgs), you'll want to make a 16x16 or 32x32 (depends on what the engine can handle) graphic in any graphics editor. The graphics in such orpg editors are all located in a single image; thus, you'll need to copy you image into the correct position t line up with the games map system (if 8x8, every 8 pixels is a new tile, for 32 the same.). Really, there should be plenty of tutorials on the slysium website, or even easily find web sites with Google. Don't have everyone else solve your problems, how else will you learn

Sure thing. Since there are millions of different sprites out there made in thousands of styles using a dozen or so views, theres really no way to teach you how to sprite. Its like asking me to teach you how to sketch. Art is a self-taught talent. Oh sure, you can get direction from art class, but the real bare bones talent comes from practice, not a lecture. SO OPEN UP PAINT AND PRACTICE!! NOW!!! FOR A LONG TIME!! But.... to help you along the way, the best way to go about getting the style down, you should find a screenie of a sprite that is made in a style that you like, open it up in MS Paint, then make a sprite just like it right next to it. Do that over and over until you get the style down. And thats about it. Good luck. ![]() |

And on to sprites. Now if you have ever used RPG makers you'll notice that it have multiple pictures of a character on one image. Often programs take a image with every animation frame on it and "slice" it. So now from one image it made maybe 16 which are then the animations. Ive never used elysium so i dont know. But what i explained is the most common one. If elysium comes with any premade sprites maybe check em out and edit those for practice and when you feel like your enough try to make your own. Even if it looks like crap its fine because its gonna be like that learning (You cant make the mona lisa the first day trying to paint). Also check out some tutorials. RPGmaker sites will probably have some |

I didn't mean to sound mean, but I didn't mean asking wasn't ok. From the short length of the question, he's not giving us enough info to go on, thus making us do the work. He wan't us to give him an answer, when most likely he would have found all the help he needed on the Elysium forums. He asked how to create a sprite, but never thought to tell us the purpose of the sprite.
There is a difference between asking for help and asking for a solution. But on topic, yeah, I believe Elysium is another one of those orpg makers built off the same leaked orpg editor code from a while back, so in sense, expect the answers for Elysium to be very similar to other orpg editors. (aka the single image for all of the sprites.) But, yeah, I admit I may have steped up to far.
