Latale Registration Guide (warning: big pictures)

since everyone seems to be requesting for the latale registration guide
(and i myself want more people playing), i shall post it up for you lovely darlings :> <3

what is a kssn, you ask? it stands for korean social security number.
it is only available to korean citizens, just like how a SSN is in your own country.

BE AWARE: best to use IE for it, firefox is a bit evil with the registration.

IRG. REGISTRATION GUIDE:
1) click on 회원가입 on the main site (www.latale.com).

2) scroll down, check the box and then 다음단계로.

3) next [oo, exciting part] you, of course, add your name & kssn then press 확인.

4) you start filling out the form <33

5) congrats! you're done <3!!
click 확인 to return to the main website and you should be log in already.

6) when the activeX tab comes down, click on it to install the ActozSoft GameManager.

IIDL. DOWNLOADING:
1) go here: http://www.latale.com/DataRoom/DownLoad/default.asp

2) scroll down and click on the blue picture.
once again, IE should be used for this.

3) this little window should pop up for you (login again if necessary).
then, click on 시작 [start] to start your dling.

IIIDC. DELETING YOUR CHARACTER IN LATALE:
1. whilst on your character page, click on the character you want to delete and press 캐릭터 삭제 (3rd option):

2. you'll be led to a page with writings and bold words in quotations.
finally, your korean typing skills have came in handy! carefully type 삭제하겠습니다 in and press 확인:

3. fuu! your character is gone~ well, time to make another one, i suppose <3!

IVAL. using APPLOCALE (viewing korean ingame):
1) microsoft love: http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/tools/apploc.mspx
2) download & install applocale onto your computer
(note that it would not show up on your program files, but it will on your start > all programs > microsoft applocale).
3) open applocale and click next.
4) select 'launch an application' if it hasn't been chosen already and then press browse.

5) try to find the file 'LataleLauncher' in your latale folder located inside program files > actoz.

6) press next after you're done. on the next page, select 한국어 from the dropdown and press next.

7) check 'create a shortcut to always run this application with applocale.'
in the box available, type in what name you want the new icon to have.

8) the icon would show up in the applocale folder located in your start list and you're able to drag it onto your desktop.
just don't mix up the applocale icon with the actual latale icon.

9) after you click the applocale icon, this window should pop up:

10) the launcher would pop up for you after you click ok on the previous window.
after updating, the button 게임시작 would come up next to 끝내기 and you're done~

11) if it's done correctly with applocale, it should look like this (korean letterings):

if not, it'll look like this (notice the question marks; jibberish):

VAAM. using WINDOWS LOCALE (alternative method):
as you already know, applocale is a program that enables another program to view a certain language.
however, the latale updates now see it as a hack program and gameguard completely blocks you
from going ingame~ thus, we need to resort to changing your entire computer's unicode to korean.

1. first, you'll need to go to your control panel. then, click on regional and language options.

2. from this new popup, go to the advanced tab. see the dropdown box? open it and find korean.

3. almost done! just click apply on the bottom right of the window and it'll prompt you to restart your computer.
once restarted, your computer will now read everything as korean
[such as, if open a multilanguage program, such as java, it'll read it as korean].

VIKIKS. KOREAN IME KEYBOARD SETUP (for WinXP):
this is instructions only specified to WinXP. however, it might work on others:
1. open your control panel (start > control panel).
2. click on regional and language option.
3. click on the language tab (check 'install files for east asian languages' if you haven't already).
4. once on the language tab, press details.

5. this window should open up for you containing what type of keyboards you have available.
english should already be defaulted into there. also, in the advance tab, check if the 'extend support
of advanced text services to all programs' is checked. if not, check it:

6. back on the settings tab, press add. a new window would pop up and from the dropbox, find korean.
check the 'keyboard layout/IME' for korean and handwriting recognition if able & press ok:

7. voila, it'll add another language to your IME keyboard:

8. you should now have a language bar on the bottom right of your computer screen.
if not, press language bar on the text services and input languages window and it should pop up.
note that the default language would be english (EN):

9. for easy access to typing korean while you're ingame or wherever, you'll have to set a
keyboard sequence to change it into a korean keyboard while you're in another program.
the default language will always be the english bar, so it won't work if you tab out,
switch the language manually and then go back on since the language would only be for
your desktop or whatever program you had on while switching.

10. to set a sequence, highlight KO (korean) on your text services and input language window and press key settings on the bottom.

11. on this new window,
highlight the keyboard sequence you want to change into which, in this case, is switch to korean-korean input system.
press change key sequence~ if you want, you can also set a sequence to the english keyboard:

12. you'll be leaded to a window where there's very few options you can choose sequences you can choose from.
set it to whatever suits you best then press ok. press ok again~

13. there, you should be able to switch to the korean keyboard if you hold down the correct sequence you setted for the korean keyboard.
try it, it should work~ if not, i suppose you can post your problem here.
also, to switch from english text to 한글 (korean alphabet typing), just simply press the right alt button.
it'll change the A

to a 가

. press the right alt again to switch back to A.

VIIKK. A BIT OF INFO ON THE KOREAN KEYBOARD:
in korean, we have an alphabet called 한글 [hangeul]
and we 'spell' by stacking the letters on top of each other.
here's a picture of the overall keyboard and what characters are on it:

also, you can stack the consonants by holding shift + consonant
(e.g. ㄱ equals ㄲ, ㅅ equals ㅆ etc.)

consonants:
ㅂ - b [p]
ㅈ - j [ch]
ㄷ - d [t]
ㄱ - g [k]
ㅅ - s
ㅁ - m
ㄴ - n
ㅇ - at the end, it's pronounced -ng & at the beginning, it's soundless.
ㄹ - r
ㅎ - h
ㅋ - k
ㅌ - t
ㅊ - ch
ㅍ - p

vowels:
ㅛ - yoh
ㅕ - yuh
ㅑ - ya
ㅐ - ae
ㅔ - eh
ㅗ - oh
ㅓ - uh
ㅏ - ah
ㅣ - ee
ㅠ - yu
ㅜ - uu
ㅡ - eu

EX: kamsa - rka tk would spell out 감사
(short for 감사합니다, which means thank you. another abbreviated internet term for it would be ㄳ) ;3

so in short, when you type korean on your keyboard,
you don't type it in the romanized format, like you do in japanese typing.
instead, you should follow the keyboard guidance above.
also, it's not hard to memorize where the letters are either,
just a bit of practice will do the trick.

lol, i haven't spoken english in the game so far (no english people to play with~)
and one time when i did when my friend was on, people just stopped and stared.
you'd not get kicked but it's better if you don't speak english when a GM is around (evidently).

& yesh, the dl-ing does take awhile, but it shouldn't exceed 4 hrs .D.!
the thing i'm worrying about would be the quests...
maybe i should make a new chara and play with you on it so i can guide you through the quests easier, hehe~
