You get them from getting first or second in pvp or high rank missions...

I think they add elemental dammage...

depends on how well you do in pvp one time i got 5th place and got a divine rune... weapons dont add any effect unless you have runes in them you may wonder whats the difference between 11k wep and 2k wep the 11k contains 3 runes already meaning 12% element dmg i believe each rune contains 4% damage thats what ive learned so far hope it helps.. and each element for a weapon can only get elements for that type like fire with fire runes ice with ice runes only like that see ya!.

I belieave the different between low cost equipment and high cost equipment is the rune slots.. and armor are different since they have main armor and sub armor.. the main one cost the most.. There are total of 12 runes so far I have only 4 different type of runes.

But to my knowledge that there are wind, fire, ice, thunder, darkness, runes that can only be place on certain weapon such as fire claw you can equip fire rune.. Other rune my increase your attack by 20% (double sword rune) or increase your mana and health by 5 point or decrease the amount of sp use for dash or counter.

I might be wrong

weapons with out runes already gives extra dmg...

no they both are 5 slots. and there's more then 12 types of runes...well in the korean version that is...

not to me...with violet with regular wep hit did 54..with divine 54 no difference to me
