Now I realize it's very hard to uphold all of the rules all of the time, but there are quite a few rules that are very regularly broken to the point where it would be impossible for all of the moderators be unaware. And if you are going to intentionally let people get away with breaking rules, why bother with rules at all?
2. No Flaming Do not flame any one in any way. Flaming is the act of taunting, yelling, majorly making fun of, etc. And this also includes the flaming of games. You don't need to like a game, but don't flame it just cause you don't like it. I think you all have a good idea on what flaming is. And if somebody breaks a rule or flames another member, that does not suddenly produce a loop-hole where you can flame them. Now this is a rule that I see upheld only when it's broken in a very blatant and over-the-top manner by someone who is 'unpopular', where as so long as they don't outright call someone a ****tard, most any 'regular' can get away with flaming all they want appearantly. 3. No Spamming Do not spam up the forums with useless stuff. Such as making a thread titled "I just ate a pickle" and the message "And it was good." All it does is waste bandwidth, and no one cares about your pickle anyway. Again, another rule that is only upheld if the person breaking it is EXTREMELY blatant and/or unpopular where as most people can generally get away with useless one word or off-topic replies. 10. Respect Written by Xenonight2 Be respectful of your fellow members. Everyone is entitled to voice an opinion, please respect it. If you happen to disagree with it, say so in a mature and adult-like manner. Respect each member's voice. Be respectful of your fellow members, treat them with courtesy and kindness. If you happen to be mad with a mod or be angry at them, please say so in a respectful manner. Mods are here to help you, so if you have an issue with something on the forum, just ask. Probably the least upheld rule in the forum. It's a rare occurance when someone replies to a post they disagree with in "a mature and adult-like manner". 11. Debates Written by Xenonight2 Debates are serious discussions over serious matters. This means that no joking, and no flaming are allowed. Please don't post things such as "BUSH IS AN IDIOT" or some such or "ALL GAYS MUST DIE". Joking is absoloutly NOT allowed in debates. They are, as said before, serious matters, that require serious attention. And, don't let the debates to become too personal, or hold a grudge because of a debate. A debate is just a friendly way to argue, so lets keep it friendly. Again, another rule that for the most part is ignored so long as the person doesn't break it in an outlandish manner. 13. Old topics. Do not bring up topics where the last post is older then two weeks. I don't have a problem with the way this rule is upheld, the problem is with the rule itself. Why not delete all posts passed page three if you don't want people to reply to anything older than two weeks? I mean, people are VERY quick to get on someone's case if they make a new thread about a topic that's already been discussed, but then if they try to reply in the old thread about the topic, they'll get in trouble. It's a very hypocritical rule. Last edited by Katsu; 11-04-2006 at 02:55 PM. |

This is Spam/Old Topic.
![]() Since you're quoting a old topic and no one really listens to the rules (I listen to them unless someone like Capo comes along and well... I couldn't hold myself back. > I guess no one really cares about this thread then. If someone breaks the rules, let them get banned. I have one warning left, so I'm being extra nice to people (Until Olaph saves me.)

This is almost exactly what I am talking about. A reply that doesn't even finish an entire sentence is spam. It's a plain and simple fact.
BUT in the spirit of helping my fellow man, I will give you a small tip on replying to posts. If your 'sentence' ends in an ellipsis, you are not finishing your thought and therefore not finishing the sentence. And an unfinished sentence/thought does not warrant a post or reply, therefore making it... you guessed it. SPAM. Last edited by Katsu; 11-04-2006 at 01:49 AM. |

But on that note, I'd like to point you to rule number ten. Oh, and two. Because calling someone's views pointless simply because you disagree with them is flaming.

Explain to me in what manner my post is not relevant to the general forum, not a completed thought, or off-topic and those replies can be considered valid.
Appearantly you two are very sketchy on the actual definition of spamming. Now let's be honest, the reason you two are both trying to convince yourselves this is spam is because you know you both fall into the categories of people I mentioned in the original post. It's really unfortunate that you both lack the capacity to reply to a post in a respectful and mature manner. And even if you had a valid point (which you don't), how would very intentionally breaking multiple forum rules in a thread discussing them help your case?
