The site is designed for 1152x864 and higher resolution. This is covered in the FAQ.
Regarding everything else, I'm still working on the grand scheme of the site...which is why it's beta and not RC/release.

Erm, I was hosting my own game myself too without advertisements during the first beta round... didn't cost me a dime. You honestly don't need that many ads, it doesn't cost that much to run browser based game (text) servers.
