Aren't Knights depending on the awfully expensive Vital Drink *potions*? Or do they have enough FP to AoE a bunch so they can use their natural recharge?
For my Psykeeper, I never use Refreshers. Partly because I have "too much" MP for Refreshers to be able to fill it, but also because I would be using more Refreshers than I find, making it more expensive to play. On the other hand, Psys use a one-handed weapon... so they use shields. BPs can be Dex-BPs, which would basically be a Blade based on the Assist class. However, Blades seem to be using tons of food when soloing, which (technically) are potions as well, and it costs money. As for AoE BPs... same as Knights, they might need Vital Drinks. BPs use shields, though. No two handed weapon for them (well, you can use sticks to bash monsters, but generally it's sticks for casting and knuckles for bashing). There's a lot of so-called "Bow-Jesters", so Jesters aren't necessarily using Yoyos. They won't be using their Jester skills, of course.

Well, in this game it's impossible to avoid using pots, and since they really aren't that expensive or difficult to use, it shouldn't be a problem. And yes Knights spam fp pots and occaisionally food when AOEing, but the leveling is fast so the ends justify the means i guess. Every character, unles you go strictly 1v1 and have a full-time rm to support you, will use pots, and usually lots of them.

Same at lvl 60 --- so make sure you don't cash in an office quest before you do the job change, it would just be 20% down the drain. Or another Exp-quest. Quote:
You are right --- my Psykeeper (Lvl 74 now) is stricly 1vs1. I don't actually have a full-time RM with me, just a passive one (so no healing or Holycross, just buffs). But then, I have no problems assuming that Int-Psykeepers are an exception. And maybe Bow-Jesters; they might crit enough to never get touched. Thing is, my highest damage spell, "Spirit Bomb", does damage based on my *current* mana. So as you cast spells and use mana, damage goes down. Refreshers, on the other hand, only restore very little and have a maximum that's way below my top MP --- so instead of doing crappy damage AND use expensive Refreshers, I take short breaks after a kill or two to get my MP back to full. And I sell a few stacks of 8th Refreshers every now and then :-) Monsters just take too many spells to kill, which means I would have to use several refreshers per kill. I use the Banch of Rhisis wand because it was resonably cheap to buy (I actually bought it just recently), and it's lvl 45 --- which means low repair costs. I paid 1.5M for the wand, and I'm pretty sure I've already saved at least that much on repair costs compared to lvl 65-70 wands. Those repair costs were horrible, and since giants usually drop nothing, I had to do something. That was when I noticed that the wand has almost no effect on the damage dealt... so I went back to my Illusion +3, but it's still too expensive... so I dug out my old lvl 55 +6 wand again. Then I got the Rhisis :-) While this has nothing to do with potions, it has something to do with money: I need to play cost effective. I like to have my money stash *increasing*, not going down as I play --- which is the main reason why my Merc ihas gone inactive, although at the time I didn't use potions anyway, it was just the repair costs. And, of course, it's a Knight build... I don't want to burn through tons of refreshersm for a tiny bit of time saving. If it costs money, it has to be "worth it". You aren't getting rich in a day. I even do this with giants --- cast a round of Spirit Bomb or two, then sit down to recharge.
