And you know what? I CAN ****ing judge this. That guy there is a US soldier. I am a US citizen that pays taxes.
The US soldiers work for the government, and the government works for the people of the US. They represent us as a country, and that was the representation that the people there saw. What you went through in the past means NOTHING to them and how they will shape their opinion of us.

We cared when the twin towers were hit.
Believe me, I completely feel where you're coming from, but you can't expect a great deal of maturity or remorse from a normal teenager, these forums are outright proof of it, hell, half of the replies in this thread are proof of that. Now you tack on the degree of fear and general hostility a soldier has to deal with on potentially a daily basis, and you have an EXTREMELY unstable individual. Also let's not forget that Saddam's army did far worse things to the Iraqi people, it's just they weren't all middle class american kids with digital cameras and camera phones to record it all.

Let me make something as clear as possible, I do not think what this kid did was right, nor do I think he should be a soldier, he clearly isn't mentally prepared for it. But let me also be clear on something else, in the grand scheme of things he is still a kid that made a mistake in a less than favorable situation, he doesn't deserve to be judged by anyone but himself and his god for it.

1: Osama Bin Laden is a Saudi not an Iraqi. (You're an adult and I know you've heard of google, you really shouldn't post if you can't clear up your facts first.)
2: Name these "guys that hijacked da plane" and "guys who kidnap American tourists and cut their heads off on video tape" and go ahead and throw up a list of Amercans they killed as well.

Psychologically speaking, 'hostile environments' can not alter a person's behavior, only his way of processing things. Trust me, his job, nae a 'hostile environment' should not change his sense of morality; taunting a homeless, hungry, or obviously thirsty child for sick pleasures only signifies that his mindset is not strong enough. Someone who is mentally prepared or is morally justified would not do something like that for 'fun' no matter how hard their job is.

And just for the heck of it, by calling us 'assholes' you've indirectly judged us. By saying we have no right to judge him, and then continue on to judge us, you've basically made yourself look like a complete and total hypocrite...Have fun with that.
When you show me some proof that hostile environments don't in anyway alter a person's behavior, I'll consider that statement valid and respond to it. And on the point of judging you lot, I am judging people who are here and have the ability to defend themselves. But thanks for proving you either don't know the proper definition of hypocrite, or you're too dumb to read the entirety of the topic before replying.

Katsu, if you have watched the video, I'm sure you'd also judge him.It does not matter that he has been put unto different situations, it does not mean its right. In the video you can here the soldier laughing, and saying things like "Hey kiddies, you want the water? Run after it...", and laughing when the see the kids struggling to get it.

Had you been the soldier, what would you have done?

It saddens me to see a video like this, but I think everyone needs to know just why others hate us. It's weird seeing people believe that America is the best country to live in, and everyone loves us.
I have watched the video and I can honestly say I am not judging him. And though I'd like to say I would not react the same way (and I will say that it'd be highly unlikely), I've never been to Iraq, so unless I ever end up there, I can't in full honesty say I would not do exactly what he's done.

Looksy here, people don't have the right to judge other people, but they still have opinions on what they see. These are our opinions. Based on you're logic, you're wrong for judging Fabian as stupid and idiotic.(Which is totally wrong).
I did not in anyway say it was not right to judge situations you have personally witnessed and are involved in (umm... like this sitation maybe?). I stated and am stating that it's wrong to judge people and situations that you did not witness and have little or no knowledge about the background. So no, in my opinion, calling someone an dumbass for a situation that I fully witnessed myself and the person is here to defend themself and calling someone immoral for a situation they saw on youtube are not at all the same.
