Woohoo, information fun time!
The Monk is more of a combat class than a support class. They do not get any extra buffs after changing into a monk besides Fury, which can only be used on the player who has it. They have an attack power that isn't quite equal to swordies BUT they can heal and casts Bless, Inc. Agi., Pneuma, etc. They are probably the class most suited for soloing in which they can support themselves and deal out damage at the same time. They also get Asura Strike, which is the strongest skill in the game, damage-wise. The only downsides are, you cannot recover SP for 10 minutes after you use it, essentially making you a weaker swordy for 10 minutes. So, if you don't kill the mob/player in one hit, you're gonna be kinda screwed unless it has low HP, or you're in a group. The Priest is the greatest support class in the game, stat-buff and healing wise. They can make you invulnerable to damage for a short while, enchant your weapon to make you stronger against undead, demon monsters. They are the essential part of any high level group, or MvP group. Without one, you're going to be alot worse off. Battle priests can pack quite a punch, but they take a long time to get good. You have to be very patient when training them, as it'll take a very long time. So, pretty much, they're the backbone of a party. Priests are better off being in parties, and it's never hard to find one when you're a priest. Priests get the one skill that's stronger than Asura Strike, but much more limited. Turn Undead has the chance to kill and undead or demon monster instantaneously. It's all based on your LUK and DEX, so if you're going for that, be sure to raise it up. Information Funtime END! Have fun! xD -Salenia

it all depends on ure stats right now, if you are going to be a monk u should have gotten strength for the asura strike or if u have agi, combo monks lvl up fast, but if u are all int right now its best to just go priest cuz u wont be dealing much of a damage on anyone with ure 1 str asura and combo is weak as well. I have played a priest class for so long i basically know everything about them.
Stats for Asura monk is basically 110 or 120 str at lvl 99 my FULL support HIGH PRIEST gets around 120 int 97-100 vit 70 dex so i can tank stuff while healing around 2700 hp, my cast time isnt all that great but with the skills like poem of bragi(bard/clown) and gospel(pally) my stats are increased which will raise my cast time. if u like the quick cast time u can bring ure dex up to 90 and drop ure int note: these stats are added in with ure cards and equips stats. gear wise monks probably will spend more to get what they need, like the perfect mace for asura strike while priests just use a arc wand or rod which is very easily obtained. |
