Buddhists worship and believe in Buddha. Once a prince named Siddharta Guatama, he always thought the pains and sufferings of the outside really, really, sucked ass. Disease, war, famine, etc. That kind of jazz. So through a very strange and interesting set of events, he achieved enlightment. The greatest sense of peace and happiness (In our opinion of course). I follow the religion he started not to achieve enlightenment, (Cause I sure as hell cant in this lifetime), but to learn from his teachings and lead a better life. Respect all life, lead a non-violent one yourself. Hardcore Buddhist's are vegetarians, but unfortunately, after that first bite of hickory smoked beef jerky, I dont think I will ever be a vegetarian. I could go on but its getting pretty damn late.

I can't say about other religions other than Jehova Witness which is alot like Christianity but with a few twists that make sense.

Those are all from Mathew in the bible, you better pray that Mathew from the bible is wrong or we're all fucked.

Ok, I'll see what I remember:

Hinduism

Belief in Braman/Atman (The entierty of everything/The world)

Three Main Gods: Brahman (The Creator), Vishnu (The Sustainer), Shiva (The Destroyer)

All other Gods/Godesses are various incarnations of these three.

Belief in Dharma/Karma: Dharma is your assigned path in life, determined by your caste (Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishyas, Shudras, Untouchables). Karma is what happens when you follow your Dharma. Doing good Karma can get you into a better caste in your next life, doing bad Karma will "demote" you.

Life is the wheel of Samsara (Birth, life, death, repeat). Only way to get off it is through enightenment.

Buddhism is an offshoot of Hinduism (like Christianity for Judaism). Founded by Prince Siddartha Gautama, it follows the Four Noble Truths and the Noble Eightfold Path

Four Truths:

Life is Suffering
Suffering is caused by desire
Desire is ended by the Eightfold Path:

Right Viewpoint
Right Intention
Right Speech
Right Actions
Right Livelihood
Right Effort
Right Mindfullness
Right Meditation

Judaism

Christianity came from it. Follow the Torah (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy). Worship YHWH (Jehovah). Don't believe Jesus was the Messiah. Prophet is Moses.

Islam

Based on the teachings of Muhammad. Believe he was God's final prophet. Belive the Qu'ran is literal word of God, as told through Muhammad. Islamic God same as the Christian and Judaic God.

Religion centered on the Five Pillars of Islam:

Shahadah: Believe in only one God, Allah, and his prophet Muhammad.
Salat: Pray five times a day.
Zakat: Giving to charity.
Sawm: Fasting during Ramadan.
Hajj: Pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in a lifetime.



That's four major religions in a nutshell.
