They do that much dmg if you put 16 points in scythe and also they really rely on buffs, I have been playing and loving my derv sense day 1, but it took sum time to get a good build for pvp, in pve they own.

The only time i hit for 200+ is against squishes, and watch out for mesmers no buffs = a dead dervish

well my dervish has pretty good self made build it can tank and do damage at the same time using all dervish skills mostly aoe skills and a few others but i am shut down by most of what the people above said except hexers avatar of dwanya ftw and yes some avatars are a huge threat only if you know how to use them and yes they do push players to change and not stay with one build
