Seeing as all the games have had Snake in the spotlight some way or another, there is no way for you to deduce something like that, without first getting to know Naked Snake or any of the things he's done after he killed The Boss and earned the title BigBoss. There's simply not enough evidence.

Any way you put it, all of his clones, or children, up until now have regarded him as the superior to themselves - as well as the members of FoxHound. All you can go by is the story Hideo set forth, so I'd suggest forgetting about your 'book'. It doesn't really count in this conversation. =/

Side-Note 2: Snake never beat Liquid. Ever. Even after blowing him up, knocking him off a thirty foot tall mech, shooting the shit out of him, and then giving him a skull cracking headbutt, not once, but three times, he never died. In the end, it was the virus that killed him.

Am I thre only person here who has yet to play a MGS game?

I've read some Splinter Cell books, all being great. Sam = win.

Well for one, as far as the MGS series goes, at this point Big Boss actually has potentially more hours of gameplay dedicated to himself because Solid is only featured as the main character in the whole of MGS1 and about half of MGS2. Where as Big Boss is featured as the main character for the entirety of MGS3 and MGS: Portable Ops. So if anything, Big Boss has more available evidence than Solid.

Michael Jordan doesn't consider himself to be the greatest basketball player of all time, but he still is. Some people are humble, just because you consider someone to be your superior, doesn't mean you haven't surpassed them.

Your first side note is utter bull because no matter how much I believe I could just jump up in the air and start flying, it's not gonna happen.

And as for side note 2, you don't have to kill someone to defeat them. If that were the case, most martial artists, boxers, and fighters in general would be considered undefeated simply because they're still alive.
