Mr. First Name Basis

Ok well Christmas time is here again, it's clear again, it's here again. Yea and my mom -wants- me to get a PS3. The only problem is, she's willing to pay up to 1 grand. I've been telling her that I want a PS3 but I can wait a couple of months for it to drop down to $600. She's not listening. Anyways a few moments ago I read a 4 page article about the PS3 and the last words really changed my mind: See you online. Oh how I miss going online. (my ps2's motor died... forgot to get the oil changed ). I miss sniping the hell out of ppl. I miss running and gunning. I miss looking at all my stats at the end of every day of playing to see if i've advanced. Most of all, I miss Clanning. I'm not the type of guy to join a beastly clan. I don't go around pwning noobs. I always look for the not so good clan that is looking for a challenge. A welcoming community. I don't know that's me. I want the PS3. What you guys think about the price. I know some people think $600 is steep. ( not for me ), but what do you guys think about the rise in price due to high demand? Please let's not turn this into a Nintendo Fanboy Wii-Fest.

The price is steep (for me atleast, i even have a slim chance of getting anything at all for christmas), but if you want it THAT bad, get it. Most likely your freinds will buy it later for half the price and 3 free games, and THEY WILL rub it in your face. I've had that done to me with the Gamecube, Xbox, and Ps2. Or, you could get a Xbox 360. ^.^

If you can't live without the dozens of PS exclusives, go ahead, you will get an excellent system, with killer games, graphics and a blu-ray player and as of the moment the 600$ looks like a bargain compared to the other blu ray players out there that cost 1k+$. But as you can see in my sig, I personally would go Wii60 and getting the prem 360 and Wii would run you about the same as a PS3. You got a handful of excellent games and online with slick graphics and basically and an entertainment system, and on the other hand you get the slew of amazing Nintendo titles from Zelda/Metroid/Smash and more plus a new way to game...

Tell me if you find a PS3 for $600 (non preorder). The only ones I found were bundles that run 900 - 1k. Which it was a good deal, with about 6 - 7 games included with a system and sometimes an extra controller. I just don't want games to sit on my shelf...

PS3s are pretty dam rare, heck I still haven't seen a Wii...
I suggest to call all your local stores for PS3s and prepare to go to the store the next morning early, that is prolly your best bet to nail a system. But if you really can wait, I heard they are going to bombard us with PS3s in March...

EDIT: Highly don't suggest a bundle, the only good PS3 game out there is Resistance ATM. You'd just be wasting your money.
