I heard about this on the news. It sucks for people getting the Wii for the holidays. You have to return the whole system and get a new one. The news said it wasn't just the straps. Hardware defects too.

It's the starting of a new console, it happens.

To each console, it's own doom. No one wants buttsecks with the PS3 now...But that might chance later. Same with the Wii, people who find it boring because all it has are 'mario' games will probably change their mind if GTA for the Wii comes through. =/

That 3.2 million are either 14 year old kids playing on a system for ages 6 and Lower or PS3 fans trying to bankrupt Nintendo. I'm going for the latter rather the former.

To those saying that this is not a recall- you are wrong.
I even heard this on the news this morning. It is a mass-recall, because, just like the original Xbox cables which had the potential to overheat and start a blaze, these straps have the potential to break off during gameplay, which poses danger to the consumer.

Which poses danger to the eccentric idiotic consumer.......I still can't figure out whats so hard about firmly grasping the remote especially guys they have the most experience firmly grasping objects of this nature.

Lol they'll start making consoles with a warning sign:

-SWING-
-AT-
-OWN-
-RISK-

Note: Controller straps have potential to break and cause the Wii controller to fly into your TV. Also, Wii are not responsible for any breaking of the We system.
