Default My Viewpoint - and my defense.

After reading this, I realize the writing is reasonably poor, and needs work, which I am not in the condition to do so right now, but my point still remains the same. Please note that before reading this.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Alright, this is going to be about the website that shall not be named to avoid warning and to stay formal. However if moderators still wish to lock/delete this, I will feel annoyed, but it is your forums to... well... forum. I am not here to cause drama, or any of that sort, I am here to explain my side of the sitution in a mature and orderly fashion. If mods/admins feel the need to ban me over this, then so be it, as long as I explain myself in defense. I am writing this in defense of me and Saint, along with the members currently at Site"X".

That being said, I truly think I need to explain why I created the site, why I sponsored saint, and why I am in this position. Originally, I came to OnRPG as a complete and utter noob to the world of OnRPG's forum community. Gradualy over time I became affiliated with other members and slowly made new friends. So throughout that time I basically formed a social clique with no specific group and I was a slight outsider on each of them. As I got to know the members more and more, I realized who I actually respected, (i.e. FabianN, Arri, Saint, Phiox, Xeno, Endless, Envious, etc) and those who I didn't respect; no i.e. I will not be naming off people I dislike; though you probably know who you are. So soon after, I finally felt more welcomed then normal; when I actually became attached to this forum.

Slowly over time, I started to notice everyone had this social clique dilema, at least in the general section where people were liking some people and absolutely hating others. This saddened me, purely because the members, including my tyranical self, were forgetting what a community they were standing in (or sitting). People had put so much time into contributing to the community only to be shot down a while later by the "Tyranny of The Majority" (not the American document later leading to the electoral college) of immature individuals (of many ages). That being said, we all have our immature moments, myself included, but that does not mean that it's fair or "alright" to do something; institutionalized immaturity if you will.

But, I digress, these cliques made the newer members much more out of place because they had to perform much more even to get reconised by the older members, which I admit is a classic forum tragity, but nonetheless, it happens. Bring the immaturity back in the mix along with the cliques created somewhat of a streched community, in which if one thing goes wrong, I saw the entire forum leading to a dramatic situation.

Then over time, people started getting upset at members, and there was a merging of groups into two groups over two different situtions. Those who liked what Availer was doing or not (sorry, I can't bleep the name, it would ruin my argument) and those who liked what Sandman53 was doing or not. Did people see a huge ego? A valliant leader? A convient corruption? It was utmost chaos, though short (good job mods for controlling it), it still existed.

At this point, I became fed up with the situation, along with Saint, and we both realized we need to make a community less like a huge mass, but more focus on the members. Happiness of the unity, no cliques, and no corruption. We both agreed that we needed to treat our new community less like a Westernized forum and more of an easternized, where everyone is on the same plain of power, but yet are somehow guided, though not forced.

So during that time, Saint actually brought me to the idea of actually making this community one free of hate, and along with the constant attempts to make everyone on the forum friends. I believed that it was a good idea, not because I hated onRPG, but just I wanted to forum a community of happiness. Sure, onRPG is huge, and I give it that, and I am happy to remain a member here as well as there, but to the same extent, our community is small, and there are much less sections to be split between. I at least feel that our community consits of members who can actually take input, and don't feel the need to spread hate, just having fun, and getting back to the roots of what a gaming community is all about.

"I have a dream" Martin Luther King said as he put on his robe and wizard hat (I'm not a racist), and then a man reading it many years later repeated, "I have a dream, that all people, let be of they're oppinions can gather as one, free, and happy."

P.S. I cast flare.
PPS. I didn't check over grammar or spelling, so, if you see errors, please give the benifit of the doubt that I meant to spell or write it correctly.

Doesn't sound like you wrote it. Sounds like Saint wrote that, but seeing as he's in banland he sent Gabriel down to spread the word. Uhh.. I'm sorry but I took a week off from the forums and I really have no idea what's going on. I know that X amount of things conspired and it finally blew up but.. what's all the hullibaloo? I mean it's a forum. People leave. People retire. People get mad and make their own forums. Most attemps fail miserably but i'm just reporting the facts. If you obviously don't think forum is worth your time of day then why are you here posting? If anything this is shameless promotion.

I do realize now, that it does sound like a mass of shameless promotion, but I was trying to defend myself more or less. As the accusation of sainthood, if you could get a hold of him, that would be splendid, he hasn't been on MSN in days.

But I do agree, this is by far the worst writing I have ever done, mainly because I didn't make an outline prior.

Also, read it, I still hold a liking to this forum, I am not out to hate this forum in any way. Just because Saint has shown signs of distaste for this forum does not mean I share the same feeling purely because we work together.

He has Aol i think but I don't im him. I wasn't saying it sounds like he wrote it because it sounded bad. I'm saying it sounds like he wrote it because it sounded good. I did read it and that's like saying Microsoft doesn't hate Apple even though they have a Windows version of iTunes ( a mac company). It's just good bussiness to hate them.

I do see what you mean, or at least how someone could take your viewpoint. However, I see it unfair to compare that to this, purely because thats like comparing apples and oranges. Different situations (oh god, White House joke.). Think about it, I am not another company who is fighting for the same position, I am happy with my position, and I still love and adore some of the people on this forum as well as my own (in a totally heterosexual way).

Should have been tactful. But, alas, that's not a strong aspect of OnRPG, is it...

People overeact all the time. We always go through these little rough patches, and i don't know why.

Lately everything has been peachy and everything is going great. So I don't know why you bother to bring this stuff up, it will only disrupt the community which we work hard at keeping content...
