Erm...
How strange. Didn't download that Halloween thingy did you? God that was great. Are you sure Windows isn't expecting you to put a disk in, to finish an installation or something? Found this though: QUESTION: The disc tray on my Windows XP computer's CD-ROM drive keeps opening and closing by itself. Why is this happening? Jeanette Nelson ANSWER: Two things to check out. First, is the button on the front of your CD stuck or sticking? This is particularly common with machines that have a fancy decorative shell covering the front of the CD - often the spring in the external switch built into the shell is too weak, preventing the button from springing back out properly. Alternatively, you might have a virus. Of course if the button is stuck in or damaged, then the tray will open and close continuously. If it is a virus, the pattern will be more random. Scan your system with an updated virus scanner, but you might need to service or replace the CD drive. |

And if you believe that you're computer does indeed have a virus, I suggest downloading the Nod32 30 day trail, or the Kaspersky trial to scan your computer. I've never heard of a disk try popping out all the time, but If I find anything about it, I'll be sure to tell you.

The button definately isn't stuck. I suppose the pattern is somewhat random, but for the past 5 minutes or so it's been popping in and out nonstop.
The weird thing is is that when I press the button.. the tray doesn't pop out. Only when it feels like popping out it does. whatever. Scanning for viruses now. |

I had the same problem last year.
You're problem is tray trolls. They're little gnome-like trolls that live in your monitor. If you're bad to the computer and watch porn, damage it, or get it wet, these tray trolls will play havoc with your disc tray. I spilled soda on the keyboard. |
