First off, she's not crazy. She just has a problem.

Let's relate her cutting addiction to a smoking addiction.

Blood lose kills you,

Cigarettes kill you. (Especially with the fires, Shattered should know about them cigarette-started fires? Right? (Sorry, just trying to cheer you up. <<))

Now, a whole cigarette has enough crap in it to kill you if indigested.

While a big blade is large enough to cut you open and kill you with blood lose or damaging an important organ....

So she's just about as crazy as any other cigarette smoker.

As a past cutter myself, a mental rehabitation center is not a crazy house. I've only seen like maby 3 really crazy people in a rehabitation center out of the like 20 I've met. It's also used for drug addicts, ODers, and anger problems.

If she did have a boyfriend, maby her boyfriend is the cause of her problems. Maby that boyfriend is messing her life up. If she doesn't have a boyfriend, maby you could set her up, Shattered, that might help alot.

So anyway. Yeah. >>

You know, I have lots of smokers in my family, and whenever I ask them "Why do you smoke?" they reply "Because it gives me pleasure". That's same with us,gamers, "Why do you pe say "because we're bored and have nothing else to do". But no, this particular person cuts herself just because....I don't know about you, but it sounds preety weird and sick to me.

I suppose its her way of releasing stress...
just like when I get pissed off at someone/something, I just pull up my
Sumo and play some good old Street Fighter Alpha 3 to vent some anger.
Sounds dorky, but thats what I do and it works.

Course, her reasons for doing that to herself are completely more complex
compared to mine, but..thats my 2 cents.

Smoking cigarettes = Harms you alot.
Playing videogames = Messes up your vision.
Cutting yourself = .... Cutting yourself.

They all harm you equally, but you get unprofitable pleasure out of doing it all, usually releasing stress.

There's also alcohol drinking, which barely hydrates you, and kills your liver.

Drug addiction, temporary pleasure for harming your body and losing massive amounts of money, and other horrible things.

In fact, cutting yourself is probally the best out of all of those methods of releasing your stress. You're not always spending massive amounts of money on video games, cigarettes, drugs, and alcohol, while you're still releasing stress with similar effects to your body (Harming your body).

But I'm not saying cut yourself instead of play video games, drink alcohol, do drugs, or smoke cigarettes, I'm just saying. Humans are fucked up backwards creatures.

I'm just saying that she doesn't have a reason for doing it.....That's what bothers me...I mean...cutting yourself isn't like picking your nose....It can lead to death if you overdo it....

could we say that her cutting and od'ing is a very bad "habit"....shes in a habit of doing this and i don't think she is planing to stop until she relises herself that she needs help(which she has clearly done by asking you), but she needs the motavation and the discepline...

he has already said that she is not emo, but she could be looking for attention, i don't know the girl but she does talk to you about it and u she does care what u say and she keeps talking to u so she could be looking for attention

Is'nt there some kind of people who can help with this kind of stuff? Like psyhologist?.. or something..? ask her parents whether they can bring her to a doctor who treats this kind of things.. Couseller does'nt work alot..

Or just throw all the knives in her house away, anything that can cut, I don't think she'll intentionally break a glass mirror/window just to get something to cut herself.
