Yea, it was a way to keep up on both languages. The map editor outputs the maps in a special format which are read into the game through VB. So the two really have almost no connection at all.

I know how they work, but wouldnt the game be more powerfull if the game was written in VC and editor in VB?

i'd also like to test your game as mines written in vb6 and id like to see how well it compares to other vb6 engines.

Feel free to test it. The game is open to the public at our website. The server is currently down and will be brought back up this afternoon. As for the difference between C++ and vb6.0 it really depends. I wrote several more basic games in C++ but they were not as heavy on the graphics. With DirectX and API functions I find that vb6.0 can do quite well with games. I haven't really run into any programming problems that I haven't been able to solve yet. Its more design that seems to be holding me back. Is your game testable I would love to see another game written in vb6.0 as there are not many of them out there.

have to wait about a week or so till I find a server. I ran into a few problems. in one of my functions i had to add ByVal to every arguement, without it would crash with no error. was pretty weird.
