Yes, I'm back; and much more cheerful
2 Our project is under way, and I'm now looking for more specific talent. The project is an MMORPG called X-Shift. Its a 2d isometric game (2:1 scale) with a post-modern, urban setting. The project has finally left the very drawn out pre-production phase and has finally moved into the first steps of actual production. *Hooray!* Its being coded in Java, with a little C++ and OpenGL graphics. What we have: 3 programmers (1 lead programmer & 2 tentative part-time) A 2d graphic artist (myself) A 3d modeller (buildings, items, etc) A mapper 2 music composers A web developer A network tech A concept artist ...also people that will be doing marketing and bookkeeping What we need: Someone who is reliable and proficient in Poser. (Notice I said reliable first...and in bold...and italics) You will be responsible for creating the initial models for characters and NPC's. These should be created in Poser (or some similar program such as DAZ) and exported as bmp/gif images. The first steps in this process are simple walking and running animations, but will become much more involved as the need arises. For instance, there will have to be models and animations for adults and children, both male and female. There will eventually be a LOT of animations. Also, we will eventually need various hairstyles for each model type as well as clothing and items (all with matching animations, but exported seperately from the models themselves). This is going to be used as an overlay in the game. NOTE: None of this is expected at first. For now we simply need the basic models and basic animations. What we offer: Sadly, nothing. Save for the excitement of working on a real MMO that is being built from the ground up (no pre-fab engines or game makers). Of course, this is planned to be a commercial game, so there will be payment at some point (anticipated 2 years from now; and no, that's not when the game will be complete, its simply when we hope to begin generating money from/for it. I'll give more details on that to those who want to know); as well as a possible employment or partnership in Phoenix Concepts, LLC (though I make no promises on either). This is, as of yet, a little premature. The programming has just begun, we don't have any screenshots and the website is still under construction (should be up in a day or two). But the programmers are already asking for maps and, since the models and animation are going to be so indepth, I'd like to get working on them as soon as possible. Reply here or PM me. Thanks
