we have a few spritist we could use more maps we have a story line WE NEED A PROGRAMMER: storyline just incase you want to see it: You are a kid starting your journey through the Cobalt Region (connected 2 the Orre Region) and your rival is apart of team Snagem (Orre) and you venture out through all sorts of Terrain in order to spoil his plans. In the beginning, you see your rival and his men trying to take the newest species of pokemon starters that Prof. Oak (Gary) recieved from the Orre Region and you choose from the starters and fight off your Rival and go through the Cobalt Region Preventing your Rival from taking over the pokemon planet. so if any one wants to work for it or program it then we would be highly appreciative just ask for the link if you want to help |

If major corporations tried to sue every person that mentioned creating a fan-game on the internet, they'd be bankrupt from the court costs by now. Really, unless you make a stir, they're not going to care.

How old are you? I run my own business, and I know all about copyright law and legal fees. The fact of the matter is, the people from these companies know full well that its not worth their time or resources to attempt suing a fan game. 99% of the time, they never amount to more than ramblings on a forum.
If they did sue you (for whatever reason) they would, of course, employ lawyers. They have lawyers on staff, in fact, and a corporate executive wouldn't represent himself in court. They could try to get you to cover the fees, but they also know that your entire life up to this point isn't worth even an hour of "arms-reach" litigation, let alone court fees. They would never see that money and they know it. Please try to have informed opinions, especially if you're going to disagree with someone else's.

Its true that they wouldn't waste money on an rpg with only 1k players but if it becomes a full fledged MMO with 50k people they will care
As for facts Also their is a law against copyright. Simple as that. They might not sue you but they probably will close you down. Last edited by Dennis56; 01-25-2007 at 04:08 AM. |

And I doubt this game will ever see 50k players, or 1k players or, most likely, even the light of day.
I'm sorry, I don't mean to be critical. By all means, work on this game, but don't expect it to become what you're hoping for. Regardless, it will be fun to do, and it'll be a priceless learning experience. As for everyone else; you know as well as I do that you're wasting your energy shouting "copyright!" at all these fan-game posts. If you've been online for any amount of time, you know that these games have never, EVER made it much further than an idea or (best case scenario) a small indy game that members of a single online community play a few times and delete. People are here looking for help and guidance with their games and ideas. Your experience knows the road that they're headed down. Use that knowledge to give them some direction. Anyone can say "you'll be a failure". I would hope that the people interested in and involved in the online gaming industry would have a bit more insight than that.
