The World(looking for better name)

Brief description:
Just started this project afew days ago.. Will be based off the fictional MMORPG as seen in .hack// series. This will be first person. if possible the interactions will be achieved with the mouse: You press a key to switch into action mode. This will let you use the mouse like a hand/weapon etc. The limb will be 'attached' to the mouse cursor in this mode. this will allow the player to have more freedom over the movement of things such as swords during battle, or ineracting with the environment. Will consist of the use of voice chatting, not text chatting. This leaves the keyboard free, thus allowing the use of more keys. As said action mode will have the limb 'attached' to the mouse, so if you have a weapon, you have more freedom over the attacking. This also makes for developing control of of the weapon as well. Would like to implement HMD and head tracking technology as well, that way the user can move there head and have the camera move along with, but the cheapest HMD I have found is jsut under 200 bucks... Any suggestions?

Also This needs to be as acurate and realistic as possible.

Target aim:
Will have to be freeware.

Compensation:
If project donations are put up by people then team will get payment based on amount submitted. But other than that, It will only be done via free work.. sorry.

Technology:
Working with DarkBASIC Pro.

Talent needed:
Programmers:
Need Any DBPro Programmers. Need to be able to code at least desent.

3D Modelers:
Need people that can do first class 3D Models(as realistic as possible)

Mappers:
I need some people that can work with 3D mapping: Dungeons, fields,
towns....

Texture artists:
people who can make realistic 3D textures for buildings, terrain,
characters, weapons etc...

Team structure:
Eiji(me): Am doing the work myself...

Same fatal error as every one of these posts. What can you do? What have you done? Because from the looks of things, you need people that can do pretty much everything.

Sounds interesting though, but people don't sign up for an idea, especially ones that are "based on" a pre-existing idea. Good luck though.

Well, aside from that, the main problem here is copyright infringement. There's no way CyberConnect2 is going to let you use their franchise without their blessing (which they won't give). Sorry, but you're gonna have to choose something else as a base. .hack is copyrighted out the ying-yang.

Khanstruct << Acctually, I can do a bit of some of the stuff. my main concern is not me getting credit. It is seeing this project come to life... I can program some (still learning though). I can do 3D models.

Yeah, I know it sucks

Many a chrono-trigger projects have been shut down because square-enix went after them. But trust me, companies generally don't give out access to their copyrights. You could email them, I guess, but I'm almost 100% sure they won't let you... sorry

Copyright suck. However it does help people use their imagination. But if you put like months worth of work into creating characters and such you wouldn't want you work to be used by everyone else for free.
