Default 2nd profession for ruitualists?

whats is the best 2nd profession for the ritualist? thanks =D

ignore what they just said. there is no best secondary profession for a ritualist. let me go down the whole like with the other professions,
warrior:
well since you're a caster the meleemancer line is practically off. other wise you would've made a warrior or some other meleemancer character. the only thing would be some stances and shouts from the tactics line providing some extra defense.
necromancer:
people usually just choose it for minionmastering. i mean not fully minion mastering but then they use explosive growth, death nova, and just summon an army and enchant them with those skills, and bomb the minions. pretty good damage.
monk:
you could go healing, but i really like the restoration line. and you cannot heal spirits. only because you've got to use other skills to heal them, they're not like regular allies, you've got to cast some spells that say '... and heals nearby spirit create for ....'
ranger:
some people got beast mastery... which i kind of don't recommend. maybe when you're a little higher leveled only because you don't have enough skills to work with in the beginning, maybe when you reach senji's. which people really like to use wilderness. for more traps to lay near your spirits for when you aggro the mobs, and practically for some recharging stuff. quickening zephyr: halves the skill recharge [not spell, skill, not signet, skill, not glyph, spell] but adds a 30% spell cost of the base. serpents quickness: adds a 33% recharge for all skills recharging. which means the really long spirit recharges will go quicker. i reccomend ranger for newbs. you can just use those 2 skills combined with BOON OF CREATION for energy management.
elementalist:
nothing really here for you except for PvP:
channeling and air magic. example glimmering mark : causes blindness for 1...? seconds everytime a foes suffers from lightning damage. so just lay that down on a meleemancer [blind - 90% chance they'll miss and attack. useless to lay it down on a caster because they don't do melee.] and then just keep spamming some channeling moves, channeling does lightning damage btw.
memer:
nothing really, just arcane echo for farming, this is your farming secondary profession. just keep casting arcane echo and vengeful was khani? if you want to see it in action then just search it on google. type in RITUALIST FARMING. then a Rt/Me video will come.
assassin:
well only for pvp. which i don't reccomend. some people use daggers + spirits strenth + vital weapon. its like the new kind of illusionary weapon.
dervish:
nothing really here for you.
paragon:
same as warrior. although if you wanna look for a PARAGON secondary go RITAULIST. there is a spell Vocal Was Sologon: weapon spell increases the seconds of shouts and chants or something by ... - ...?
choose any profession because beleive it or not ritualist is the best survivability class. they can heal with restoration lines, they can attack and protect with spirits, and they can just spike with some channeling magic.

Great advice, Zenith Zero. Thanks! Just what I needed too.

I may take up Ranger as secondary for my ritualist. Anyway I can change secondaries later -- say mesmer for farming, and the like

i would say necro is a good one not best best is whetever u prefer cuz of spawning power. with 10 points into it all created or animated creatures get an added 40% health making minions last longer with the downside of not having soul reaping.

If you're using spirits and not using Rit Lord, going /R with Serpent's is not a bad idea.
