Default The Ten Commandments (Revised by Oisterboy)

I posted this here, incase anyone hasn't bothered to check them out on the site. They are pretty good rules of thumb to follow, some of them more obvious than others, but I figured I would add a few and make a guide here, to help some of the maple beginners out.

1. Always know the price of your items! As a high level, I personally know the prices of all items. Sometimes, the items you find are extreemly valueable, and you don't even know it! It's a very common tactic of high levels to ask you what YOU want for the item, then scam you by paying wayyyy too little. When you get an item (such as a scroll) be sure to check its value on Basil Market!

2. Be sure to report hackers! Reporting hackers is a must, because, if you see a hacker, and don't report them, they COULD have reported you! At the end of the day, you could be 'counter-reported' by hackers, so its best to avoid them if at all possible. Hopefully, the GM's will take a look at your gameguard report, and find it clean, but don't take any chances!

3. Don't be annoying! So many times a day, a maple beginner will walk up to me, and request a trade to say 'items plxz' or 'mesos plz'...it really gets old. All the high level people out there are NOT as nice as this, but if I find an item that does not sell for much, or, if I am feeling really nice, I give the item away to you. But, its completely random, so DON'T ask for items from anyone...it just gets annoying, and could get you a de-fame!

4. Plz Dnt TYUPE Lyke dis Typing in short hand only makes you look extreemly ignorant, and childish. Some higher levels won't even deal with people who can't type correctly, so please take the time to tick out all the keys in your words! Spelling is a different issue (I have a vocabulary that 'threatens my teachers' but the 'spelling skills of a wounded cat')

5. Keep your head up! Always remember, there will be hardtimes in maple...its just something that happens to everyone. You have to accept whatever comes your way...and understand that things will eventually be all better.

Hope you enjoy'd my first stab at something helpful!

some of the shorthand stuff is helpful. CC beats change channel, although thats just about it. Also: Its a much more efficient 10 commandments when there are TEN of these commandments. 5 commandments makes for an interesting 10...Good overall though.
