Screw Visual C++, use Bloodshed's Dev C++

There is your compile and build menu items.

Click execute to "run" the program.

Well, Dev-C++ isn't strictly better... actually, it's worse. But I still use it :P. If you're just starting out and not used to it yet, I'd say stick with Visual C++. The compiler is better (so I've heard), and it's more mainstream.
