Lt. Vulgar is completely correct.

I rather use ms-dos instead of a mac. Macs are not for gaming, they just do everything (except gaming) like windows but a lot worse... they have all those GAY commercials about mac being better then windows buts its all a big scam. YOU HEAR ME? IT'S ALL A BIG SCAM.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=Id_kGL3M5Cg

That video is the complete truth.

Ontopic solution: convince you gf to buy anything other then mac.

Remember that it IS a scam.

Alright. So if I was to say half of you are idiots I'd hope your not offended. This post was made by the guy because he wants to know games. Not what is better or not better. So get a grip on yourselves.
He has a PC.
Got it?
His girlfriend has a Mac.
Got it?
He wants to know Free RPG games for a Mac. So do I. I need it for my friend who has a pc but can't pay for games easily. She wants to play with me but of course Mac holds me back. Now rather than argue which is better or who should have what so on so forth, just answer the question. Not too hard is it?

Runescape
WoW (Costs)
I'd see if you can bring Install disks for D2 and such.
Everquest rumor has it.
I heard Guild Wars works but also money.
Most these games are money costing.

Now...I apologize but I'm about to rant a bit more.
I have 2 computers.
A mac laptop for graphics work and such and a PC for gaming.
Before we start whining...
I'm happier with my Mac. PC is a custom built with a friend and we've been doing it for years. I work as a Hardware software supporter for my University.

Mac > PC. Not necessarily True nor PC > Mac.
You can break it down and such into advantages and disadvantages.
But you want my opinion?
PC is going to die badly with Microsoft being as crappy as it is. More games as one person noted, are being made for Macs. Why? It's getting used more and more. Sure no viruses at current and they'll come. But there is also Antivirus software. Oh well that takes care of Viruses. Stop complaining stop whining stop arguing. They are both computers, and eventually both will be capable of doing the other. Though I think the OS system is where Microsoft will lose out.

For my good friend. Lastly this is the best direction I have for you to head.

Check it out. They list platform requirements so you don't have to download or anything to check to see if it works for your Mac. Best I can do. Good luck and I'll check back for any helpful posts.

If you say so Lt. I registered because I noticed that the question wasn't answered. And yet again, it isn't.

Other site I found. Wikipedia has a somewhat decent post. Free MMORPG with platform requirements. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_free_MMOGs

Okay I have to agree with VincentNs.

But I have to admit that when I was a little kid I would complain about how all my friends would have a windows and how we had a Mac, and also on how I wanted a windows just because of cool games. My view changed greatly though when I got older because well at my school I would have to use windows all the time, and lets just say it got annoying when the program kept shutting down when your doing a paper or something without saving ( I know I should have saved but that's not the point here).

Also at my friends house one time we were burning Cd's and she was using itunes on a windows because she has an ipod. Well she asked her dad how to download the songs onto the CD, and her Dad said to just push the burn button. She was shocked, that was all she had to do. I would to if i was her because I have seen her download stuff before and she had to go through all these files, it personally looked like a pain in the ass to me.

I do admit though that they do have better games and business software but the new mac took care of that. So all they have is just games. So, honestly if you keep complaining that windows is better because they have games, please grow up because when you go into these forums and just keep saying games, games, games, you sound like complete dick, and your embarassing yourself. I also feel a deep pity for you because it just shows how naive and stupid you are too, because if it's games you want go out and buy a PS3, Xbox360 or an Wii because that's what they were made for.

You know, if you're going to attempt to come to a computer manufacturers aid, at the very least, know how to type. Fingerback, you put Macintosh back a few spots with that post.

Anyway, I'll be perfectly honest. i use a Macintosh. It's not a particularly good machine, just an old iBook G3. Still runs Panther. But anyway, I'll get straight to the point, there are some things Macintosh machines run well, and other things that they cannot run to save their lives, I mean--

Just a second... Adobe? Why would you bring up Adobe? PS has been multiplatform for quite a while.

Okay, just had to address that.

How Mac's download and install applications has to be one of the most redundant and horrendously inefficient processes it has ever been my displeasure to encounter.

START:
Download a .sit (Stuffit) file from a webpage.

Decompress said .sit, where you get a .dmg (DiskImage)

Mount said .dmg, and go into Finder.

Find the Mounted disk as a Removable-Media-Type and open it.

Drag the .app contained within into your Applications folder.

Open your Applications folder, find the .app and run it.

If that wasn't bad enough, now you've got about three extra instances of that program that you need to go and clean up after the fact. First eject the Mounted Disk, then delete the .dmg, and .sit. THEN you can use your program.

Macintosh does do a few things correctly though. Like how an application is really an executable folder. So when you delete that application, it's DELETED. You don't have orphaned files and garbage like that laying around. The only other thing you'd need to do is delete your Preference file, if you want it completely gone. Which is simple enough. Go into Library>Preferences, find the application name (with a .plist attached) and delete it. DONE.

In terms of how there's a yearly OS, that just shows that Macintosh is a subscription, with a 129 USD yearly charge.

I have no idea what I'm doing here... Waiting for PlaneShift to finish downloading...
i came upon this discussion by accident, just had to register...
I am a mac user, and I'm really sorry you don't know how to use yours.
The proceddure you just declared is equivalent to unpacking a winrar to a folder, executing a setup from there, and then finding the program you want through the windows icon, programs, etc...except! you can do that more efficiently on the mac:
you can configure stuffit to erase a rared or whatever directory after getting it's contents. You can then open the dmg with douple click and simply 'drag and drop' your new application into your mac. If it's a good installation file, you basically drop it into your mac and your ready to go, no need to mount or anything else.
Anyways, now about the yearly cost...have you noticed how much windows costs? More, how many good free applications does windows have? I'll bet most of you use winrar and whatnot, but lemme also guess: you didn't pay for it, although you're supposed to? as well as many other programs. So basically, if you didn't have pirated software, videos, etc on your pc...do the math

Further, the latest Mac operating system doesn't eat up your resources like vista (or even XP for that matter), so basically, with the same computer hardware, you get better performance out of a Mac (last year, among laptops, Macs had the best rates running windows - LOL).

The problem with macs is games, yes, although there are more and more with each passing year, and it runs wow, so I'm happy lol.

oh, btw, to the mac users: get and try Quicksilver or Buttler - it will change your lives and forever make your windows experience frustrating - seriously, I now find windows completely slow - i do, launch and basically do anything with a touch of a couple buttons, it's beautiful and effective

I do have a laptop at home, since I like to play games, but I work a lot with computers, just ending my computer sciences masters thesis, so yeah, i couldn't live without my macbook, makes work a lot easir and faster.

cheers guys, and don't flame it before you try it

(PS: even installing cracked games is easier on the mac lol)

Some facts about the Falcon:

Captain Falcon has only 'showed his moves' to one mortal. we know that mortal as Chuck Norris.

Captain Falcon has never driven faster than 2 miles per hour, but never lost a race. he just looks at the other cars and they know they better not move.

Captain Falcon once yelled "Show me your moves" to God. God created what we know as the Great Flood. For this, he was Falcon Punched. God now lives in a shack in Guam.
