Tutorials are EXCELLENT to get you started..but they will only get you so far. Sad thing about half the tagging (sigs) making population is THAT THEY USE THE SAME techniques as everyone else. There is hardly anything unique about them. Its ok of course to follow tuts to get you started on some techniques. But there is a point where you DON'T have to use downloaded brushes (which is a big mistake for someone who considers themselves above average).
I can see that you are a begginer and sadly almost everyone here is giving you crap "advice". What is this "Do what we tell you to?" Do you guys think that simply because his fourth sig isn't appealing you have the right to call it s@#$? I think some of you guys are way ahead of yourselves here. Anyways enough rambling. The best advice I can give you? EXPERIMENT yes that is the key to success. That sets you apart from others by developing YOUR own style. Not some POS generic style like... *looks around* Remember that when reading tuts you should experiment with the settings, don't do everything as stated. Switch things up a bit, try and "express yourself" and don't become a bot. Also keep in mind that having flow in sigs is very important. The sig needs some direction, its really hard to just throw a whole bunch of things in and make it look pretty when its really just a mess lacking depth etc (you will probably understand that as you advance). Oh and don't say "I have a life" As an excuse to why you are a "newb". Nobody in the internet cares if you do, you are just trying to justify yourself and trying to put down others, right? If that was your intent I suggest you give up on digital art and try something else.
