I use a spear and have 5 points invested in that...I also have a point in cooking and a point in prescription....do I have to invest my points in one or the other????? I want to craft but will I still be able to hold my own with a good spear? Thanks for the help.

well u get one skill point with every level so if u thing about it when u get to level 100 ull have 100 skill points which will take a long time. Remember that all the skills only require 30 skill points max cause that is the max amount of books that u can read for one certain skill so, when u are level 60 u can be a craft. at the begining u shouldnt worry about production. just level your spear skill for now.

Try to specialise.
It's okay to fiddle around abit as a new player, but when you become more serious and interested in the game you would want to have one character for hunting and one character for productions alone mostly. It's a rather flexible build, earning your keep while enjoying the leveling times. That is, if you enjoy the leveling, heh.

a bit related to this, how do you get the skills listed under 'additional battle skills' ? for example, for bow-users, we get something like improve range skill there. but the thing is, i can't find any means to add a skill point to that one. been checking the market for books but can't find any book that says anything about improving range ~_~

additional combat skills aren't implemented in the current goonzu yet. it wasn't in the previous server too...
