I'm looking for a new class to play as, but I can't think of any that are really fun to play. I was a rogue and got kinda bored. Generally, I'm looking for a unique/fun class with decent close combat and some range support.

Well Dreanei Shaman or Blood Elf Paladins stand out for their faction... then again BC has been out long enough that they aren't very uncommon now so maybe not. I would say that the classes that I see least and therefore stand out are warriors. They can be kind of boring but at higher levels they are almost unstoppable. So I guess in a way they stand out most.

Make a shaman. any race. doesnt matter.
Enhancement spec HEAVY Melee damage. windfury weapon = 20% chance to do 2 extra attacks with alot of additional attack power. at lvl 70 a windfury crit can take out a caster in 1-2 hits pretty easily depending on equipment. Also you get stormstrike. which increases you're next nature damage spell by 60% (may be wrong), but yeah. SS + Earth shock + WF crit = owned. Elemental spec Close to a mages burst damage. talent that increases critical damage from 1.5 to 2.0 extra damage, making you're crits do much more damage and later on you get a skill that lets you have a 100% crit chance on you're next spell = pain. Restoration spec Not just for healing, has some great backup skills for the other talent trees, good for spair points. Shamans are great, we wear mail at 40, can dual-weild, can use sheilds, and can self heal/rez. great all-round char.

The only problem wit shammies is u need the good gear for a shammy to be good and evry1 expects u to heal an i personelly hate healing because when ya grinding by yourself u have to heal urself - this coming from a mage no healing powers at all(only food for me lol)but on that note my shammy kicks ***(ghost wolf rocks in warsong gulch ) but like i said b4 i have a group damage counter on my mage an im always at the top(but my mage is twinked as!!)
