As I have been saying, you need to look back upon history to the time whaen the US was created. The US was origanally only supposed to be seperate states united under a "frontal" government, essentially speaking, the States were supposed to have more power and more of an origanal identity than they do today. US was supposed to be more or less a faction rather than a country, this all changed when The US Civil War broke out and threatened the stability of the US. Hence the meaning of "united". Remember, the US was not origanally idealized by the fore father to be a country, everyone just looked at it that way. Thus by all tecnicallity, we call ourselves by our birth state and then our country, as how it goes. Simply put, Europe. You have the individual countries themselves, and then everyone of them calles themself European. ----------- I wish I had an easier way of explaining this. state equivlant (symbolically) to European countries America equivlant to Europe. There is no inbetween.

The U.S is both a great place and a crappy place. It's a great place for those who have cash, who were born in the right place, gone to the right schools, and met the right people. However, statistically, the majority of the U.S population suffer from more crap than a lot of other countries, especially in comparison to Scandinavia and the other rich parts of Europe(and japan of course, another really rich and developed country).
The U.S has a big army, and they are a huge nation with all kinds of people and a lot of different industries that has for a long time been very influencial to the rest of the world, but that is basically it. That does not work as proof to show that The U.S is a great country, because you're ignoring the state of the actual population, which is in the end what makes a country a country. Without a population, it's just landmass with a geographic name, and just as useless as a human body without a brain. So if the majority of the population isn't all that great(or having it that great), then the country obviously ain't that great either. It's like when ignorant people talk about Chinas economical growth and general progress while ignoring the fact that the wealth is extremely focused in only a small % of the population. When talking about the problems that U.S citizens are victims of, and bring up all kinds of topics regarding the state of U.S citizens, statistics usually show that America have more problems than a lot other countries. Pick any topic like; general wealth, health, crime-rates ETC.ETC.ETC. Anyways, in regards to freedom, I don't believe that the U.S is any more free than the average European country. What's more free about it? I saw someone saying that it's easier to undermine democracy in European countries than in the U.S because the U.S has the constitution and laws that protects democracy.. That's bullshit and utter ignorance. A developed European country is protected by the fact that it's average citizenz are well-educated and does not in fact need everything spelt out in capital letters to make things work(and the fact that we also have laws to protect our society, believe it or not). Furthermore, believing that you are more protected because you have laws is stupid to the extreme. If someone truly wanted to undermine democracy and had the power to do so, they/he/she etc wouldn't give a damn about your constitution(or laws in general, and that applies to any country). The constitution only protects your rights as long as you LIVE IN A DEMOCRACY, but hey guess what???? So does the laws of almost every other true democratic country on the face of this planet! And as it is, despite the constitution, as previously stated, Americans(U.S citizens for those who wonder) have their privacy invaded constantly by the government, and that is also a breach of freedom, so how much does it protect you really? They even breach the freedom of people that aren't even Americans, and sometimes even on foreign soil. Guantanamo anyone? The U.S is a nation that preaches freedom but commits acts of hypocracy constantly, as they show again and again through their foreign policy throughout history. So puuurlease, U.S greatest nation in the world, my ***... I don't have anything against Americans in general, as there are bad eggs and good eggs in all nests, but as a nation, I wouldn't even rank it in the top 10. Sure you make good movies, and have tons of musical talents, but don't think for one second that a commericalized industry like this would die out if U.S fell appart. They would just move elsewere. As for your great millitary force... So what? Great millitary = Great nation?? I guess Nazi germany was one of the worlds best nations then by that logic.. |

In Michigan, there's no such thing as a "Math extended responce" You're lucky -.-
All it is, is doing a math problem, and then explaing what you do in writing. Really lame. I hate state tests because I know I'm going to exceed state standards, do I care about ISAT's? Yes, because if I fail I have to make up whatever I fail in high school. The state won this time... |
