depends what your tv is capable of

if you only buy a hd ready tv then you'll probably only get 720p. buy a full hd one and you'll get 1080p

Depending on the HDTV, itll be in ranges of 480p, 720p, or 1080p.

1080p//i of course, is the highest resolution your gonna get.

Ask the person selling it to you.

or if your lookin online, look what it says about the T.V.

and!

You cannot change the format of a t.v, unless your a tech head and knows the inner workings.

you can't as it is physically impossible. maybe from i to p but i'd doubt tv makers would allow that to be possible because they might aswell just not sell them as i

(480 isn't hd)

It shouldn't be even possible... If PS3 is the same as the 360 I can say that first it will detect your res. Then if you want to change it you can but if your on a 720p tv you obviously wont even be able to use the 1080p setting.

ok thanks a lot, i don't have to worry about my television breaking from viewing a higher resolution than it can handle, 'cuz computer monitors shut off or go on a blank screen if it can't handle the resolution and refresh rate.

and oh yeah... i'm getting fight night round 3 for my ps3!!!!

your PS3 can't be set to 1080p. You PS3 reads your T.V and it sets it too that format, or atleast from my knowledge. Havent checked my PS3 system data for awhile. If your using HDMI or HD cords then it will set it to 720p-1080p settings since only those T.Vs support it. But if your using the normal red, yellow and white cords, your PS3's format is gonna remain in 420p//i.

FNR3. huh? I'll see you online.

OH YWEAH!!! who here plays fight night round 3 online on ps3? cuz if you do, tell me!
