Default Does carrying a heavy backpack make your stronger?

I weighted my backpack and it said 20-25 pounds. I was wondering since I am carrying so heavy shouldn't I get some benefit? So do I get stronger if I wear it for a long time?

actually it will but depends on how long u wear it for....and how much you travel with it...and you most likely won't notice that you'll get stronger but you will only a bit though

So I mean you lift weights, and your muscle improve by pulling itself. Why not the same thing for your body? It should make your body more durable.

I tried puting a heavy backpack on my back, and running around with it on once.
Wanted to see if i did that for a while, would i become somewhat faster.

I was bored....

100% No. you will get shorter not stronger. what u need to do is do lots of hand actives, like sports.

but your not really working out your just carrying it......its like holding a weight in your hand and just walking with it......the effects wont be the same as lifting the weights..you get what im saying?

It could also hurt your back, my local news did a story about somthing like this a long time ago time ago.

carrying wont do much, u need to lift,move around with it. so best bet is to go play sports.
like if u wana have strong legs...go play soccer or something...

yea or you can do like ViktorVaughn and fill a backpack with stuff and run or jog with it....in the long run it'll help

But DO NOT OVER HEAVY UR SELF!!! carry something heavy is something im against. not to mention most country public health boards are also against this. it can really shorten ur growth. if u have no choice but to carry heavy things everyday, playing basketball is the best choice to make sure u dont get short "too" fast.
