how do i make the pets do there skils

use the pet bar?

once you have a pet out, the pet bar appears just above the normal skill bar (assuming you're using the standard UI or other UI that doesnt rearrange the bars). but usually they respond to CTRL+# keys where "#" is the number key where a skill is assigned (i think CTRL+1 is Attack, but i have mine rearranged so...).
