I agree that the U.S. is not as free at it used to be or as it should be, but I'd rather live here then anywhere else.

I'm hoping that with the Bush family finally out of office in 2008 things will start to get better (Unless of course Hillary gets ellected, then I am certainly moving to Japan). But there is little we can do beyond vote for people whom we really don't know. Hillary changes her political ideals (And even her bloody accent, once) like they're clothes. Obama is more or less like every other president we've had since, well, forever (Christian, conservative, anti-everythingthatisn'tinthebible).

But yet, I doubt we will be in true trouble for a while yet, hopefully. Although, at the current path we are taking, we won't be "the most powerful nation on earth," for long.
