Go to this website if u want the custom crosshairs and dl it http://rapidshare.de/files/21285985/...hairs.zip.html then after wards follow the instructions
this tutorial was made because _zephyre_ forgot many important instructions for installing crosshairs What is a crosshair? A crosshair is the indicator or picture in the center of your screen that is used for aiming. you can also make your own crosshairs -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -Installing crosshairs- - First, go to the start bar and click My Computer - Double click on Local Disk C: [or where ever you installed GunZ]. then open the Program Files folder, then MAIET, then GunZ - Inside of the Gunz folder should look like it has all the folders. Interface, CUSTOM, Maps, Model, Quest, Shader, Sound, XTrap etc. - Now, open up the CUSTOM folder. Inside of the CUSTOM folder there should be another folder called CROSSHAIR. (if there is not a CUSTOM folder with a CROSSHAIR folder inside of that, create them in the Gunz folder) PUT THE CROSSHAIR FOLDER INSIDE THE CUSTOM FOLDER > a zip file with the CUSTOM>CROSSHAIR folders are added at the bottom [updated] - extra crosshair folder is added. now you can just copy and paste which crosshairs you want and put them in the CROSSHAIR folder. i also added most of my crosshairs even regular ones. click this link (I like to have an extra crosshair folder in the CUSTOM folder so it is fast and easy to swap out crosshairs) - Copy and paste the unaimed and aimed versions of the crosshair into the CROSSHAIR folder -rename them: crosshair - for the unaimed crosshair. crosshair_pick - (Optional) for the aimed crosshair. - A recoil crosshair is made of 1-4 outer moving parts that are used to simulate spread- - to install a recoil crosshair name, use "crosshair" and "crosshair_pick for your center part, and rename the outer moving parts as... unaimed: crosshair_t - (Optional) for the recoil part on top of the crosshair. crosshair_r - (Optional) for the recoil part on the right of the crosshair. crosshair_b - (Optional) for the recoil part on the bottom of the crosshair. crosshair_l - (Optional) for the recoil part on the left of the crosshair. aimed: crosshair_t_pick - (Optional) for the aimed version of the recoil part on top of the crosshair. crosshair_r_pick - (Optional) for the aimed version of the recoil part on the right of the crosshair. crosshair_b_pick - (Optional) for the aimed version of the recoil part on the bottom of the crosshair. crosshair_l_pick - (Optional) for the aimed version of the recoil part on the left of the crosshair. - do not put .png at the end of the 'rename' because gunz will read it as crosshair.png.png and it wont work - To use the crosshair in the game, click on 'Options' at the top right corner, then click on the 'Misc' tab. Set your crosshair to 'CUSTOM' on the drop down list. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -problems that can happen- can i have more then 1 set of crosshairs in gunz? -no, you can only have 1 set of crosshairs. unaimed and aimed. - If there is a white box around your crosshair in the game then it doesnt have a transperent background. to learn how to make the white background transperent check out this tutorial: - if you have gunz running while you put your crosshairs in the CROSSHAIR folder it wont show up. the reason is because gunz isn't constantly refreshing its information. so just restart gunz and the crosshairs will show up ----------------------------------- there are 3 different types of crosshairs that you can make 1.regular-center crosshair (no recoil) 2.recoil- center crosshair and 1-4 outer recoil pieces 3.fullscreen- covers the hp bar and any other part of the screen - To make a fullscreen crosshair, make a new file 800x600 pixels - use a screenshot to help with the measurements - to get the crosshair exactly in the middle of the picture, either use the x and y coordinates (400 for x and 300 for y), or use the ruler bars I took this guide from gunzfactor and put in here. All credits to gunz factor =) and also All credits to InvadorZim for making the guide. Plz sticky this so all people can share the love =) Last edited by tehwanksta; 06-14-2006 at 12:04 AM. |
