Compared to the monster known as the NES versions the battle rate is lower....ofcourse I have played the original and the Final Fantasy (1) remakes way to many times already...

Ok, I just got my hands on the imported version of FF 1 remake... They have an english language option which is just awsome.

Anyways, I am GREATLY impressed with the quality of this remake. It pretty much is a remake in my opinion. Better music. WAY better graphics... its just great! Can't wait too see if FF3-6 will get the same treatment
