Well what kind of build are you aiming for, pve, pvp or hybrid? If you're saying a little of both then of course you're gonna have SP problems -.-
There's also a huge gap in damage between a level 1 awakening and a maxed out awakening.

I hate to break it to you but its kind of hard to make a "hybrid". Everything can be average at PVP even with a map build. A PVP build is simply for the devoted who want an extra edge or advantage, but this can make them a lot worse off on maps in most cases. So the most advisable build for 99% of this forum is a map build and nothing more.

So in the end, if you're thinking a map build will let you never PVP, you shouldn't worry about it because it will end up fine especially on something like Infighter.

i like to invest sp into skills that i found useful, but before i can do that, i will need to understand what they do, such as the new infighter passives. please add more info about it if anyone knows.

The general knowledge we have now on the skills is good enough to decide. On the subject on if anything is worth maxing or not, use the planner and pay attention to the increases. You already know what you want out of the passives, and honestly if you're going to take it to 7, you may as well max it.

i mainly can't decide because i don't know what corkscrew and hard punch do, in terms of the unlocks. i also don't know if some of the passives are needed to get to certain lvl before it obtains the basic effects. for my build i will probably max tech and combination, and im not sure if i will lvl the rest like putting 1 or 4 points into 1 of them.

i think % is better in the end for maps, and im not sure about pvp

Hard Punch, Corkscrew and Battle Aura are more about effects than any specific outright changes. With these you'd want to max or don't bother at all.
