Today, I couldn't help but notice the person (at the time he was doing it) posting spam ads in all the forums.

The name was Jane####, the number is unimportant.

But I would like to recomend some built in name monitors that would anylize the username trying to be created and determine if it is a bot, adder, or otherwise.

By creating a some what strict set f nameing guidlines, you could maintain the amount of bots that join here.

well, last night (when a bot attacked that a mod so quikly took care off) I had suddenly gotten this idea. I noticed that the name was very simply with random numbers.

Although many user use random numbers in their name, I wondering if there might be some means to make it harder for ad-ers to come up with names.

This would be a good idea. However, it might delete names like mine if I was trying to make my account As long as it wouldn't automatically delete and give deletion suggestions to the admins it would be perfect.

We do have system in place to prevent bots from doing what they do best. For the most part is has worked. We have been able to get rid of a lot of bots including ****.

We really don't want to block usernames because it really lowers the potential of people joining our site because thier username may be banned by our system.

We do have the captcha image and I believe email verification is on. Thats really all we can do at the moment. Otherwise we need to rely on user reports to stay on top of these fellows.
