Default Support Freedom, Fight Drm!

THIS JUST OUT! The Sixteen hexadecimal digit number that unlocks HD-DVD's DRM protection has just been released. With this key one can easily get un-fettered access to the content upon the disk which they bought!
The MPPA is scrambling, trying to remove this from the internet! Digg is in complete caos! The domains that has that number in itself are being parked!

And the MPPA is failing horribly.
Support consumer freedom!

With this you can do what ever you want with the video, including copying it to your computer and re-encoding it so that you can put it on your iPod, PSP, or what ever else you want.

Without it, the only way to do something like that is to buy the movie again just for that player.

So, I should pretty much support piracy too? Yeah, seeing as how I'd like to make movies one day, no thanks(I wouldn't want someone to just give away something I put time and money into). You wouldn't want someone to distribute your product freely so why should this be any different?

No, this has nothing to do with piracy. This is about the freedom of using a product that you bought.

For example, when I buy music off of a online store, I expect to be able to play that music with what ever god damn music player I want to, and to be able to burn it to as many disks as I need to and so on.
DRM makes it so that you can only use one player. It limits how many times you can burn it to a disk, if you even can.

Same goes for movies. They are limiting how you can play your movies. What kind of players on your computer you can use. They make it so that you can't move the movie that you paid good money for from the DVD to your iPod.

They control how you can use it, and that is wrong.
If I paid for it, I want to be able to use it how I want, and not be limited by the corporations.

Do you honestly think thats what most of these guys on digg are going to do? No, they're ripping every HD-DVD they can get their hands on and they're going to upload it onto sites like Pirate Bay and Isohunt(LIKE THEY'RE DOING NOW).

I get what you're saying but, it isn't fair to the actors or directors that something they worked hard on is being hacked and distributed by people who's only goal in life is to weasel out of paying $19.99 or whatever the cost may be to own the movie.

But, I guess the defense is "They have millions of dollars, who cares if they loose a couple bucks" that's not how things work, it isn't just about the Tom Cruises or the Brad Pitts its about the people who have family's they need to feed o haver bills to pay but can't because of this.

What kills me even more is that these are the same people *****ing about high prices....gee I wonder why that is exactly?

So, uh... where could one hypothetically obtain this oh-so precious code? I'm just... y'know, wondering.

Edit: Nevermind, didn't see that link in the OP.

By the way, after reading some of the blogs comment, I found out Digg is trying to remove this from their website. Damm Digg trying to get people to stay ignorant.
