Don't pump gas on May 15th

In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On May 15th 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.

There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.

If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companies pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at leas t one day.

If you agree (which I cant see why you wouldn't) resend this to all your contact list. With it saying, ''Don't pump gas on May 15th"

This is something that I will take part in. If you dont drive, then tell parents friends family, anyone you can. We've pretty much got my entire workforce participating in this little event. Help out.

Sick absurd sum of money..

But nobody's going to care.

They need a fast mode of transportation..

Imagine you have to go to a workplace 9km away, are you going to run or use a car instead?

Oh by the way, a large number of the internet users don't drive either.

Its for one day, not a month. I drive a 72 mile roundtrip to goto work every day. At $3 a gallon, believe me Id love to see the prices fall back down.

As for the source, its something the higher-ups at my work sent to the lower guys, who then sent it to their lower guys. If that makes sense.

Yes.. for 1 day, everyone can travel with bus,Train,etc.
And there will be massive traffic human congestion in a way or what =/

Lol that's why I bought a motorcycle. Gas is cheaper. (here in the Philippines, it's like P200 which is like 4$ in the US, is a full tank on a motorcycle.)

Or, just go use Hybrid cars.

Cycle FTW lmao. I could cycle the 10+Miles to school, but I'd probably be run over on the highway.

hmm they said not to fill up... you can still drive but dont fill up on gas >.<.Im staying inside most of time watching bad Mtv shows :I.So ya everyone you can drive! but dont FIll up on gas >.<.here gas is like 2.40?

I wont use gas on the 15th...But ill consume excessively and stockpile on the 14th.. IMO i dont see the point...
