Heads or Tails

about the new LP: Minutes to Midnight album, this album is no longer "nu metal". The new LP album is concentrated on punk, classic rock and hip hop.
In a recent interview with Chester Bennington it is explained that the nu metal sound from their previous albums is completely gone. He also stated that the new album is a mix of punk, classic rock, and hip-hop beats. "Rick has brought more of a stripped down, classic-rock and hip-hop kind of feel." "This time around, Mike Shinoda is singing a lot more. It may seem like he's not on the record, but he's doing a lot of the harmonies. He also sings a couple of songs alone. "We're presenting ourselves in a different way."[4][5] thats straight from wikipedia. My question is do you LP fans think this is a good idea?, kinda a weird move eh? seriouslly. I'm not really sure about their "new sound". I can tell you this the song "Qwerty" can be downloaded from the internet. I'm not sure if its gonna be on the M2M album, I hear rumors that its a "bonus track" on the album or something like that. link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minutes...ht_%28album%29 Here "given up" sounds more punk somewhat nu metal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zEOpntUwaw its leaked LOL yea the real version. Also here is "Qwerty": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qlJykq2vro And.....if you haven't seen the "What I've done" video here watch it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vk59UKg4cZg weird how tracks can be leaked so fast eh?, the "Minutes to Midnight" album hits stores on May 15th/07. 10 days to be exact. LP.com: http://www.linkinpark.com/ on the website it says how many minutes to until their new album comes out. |

It's an interesting album and LP's first parental advisory album (not including that JayZ crap). It's much quieter. There's a political song that's mainly rap. The album grew on me after listening to it all the way through, but it's doesn't make up for the drought of new content. 43 minutes is just way too short for the wait. It's worth listening to, but I don't think I'll buy it.
That's interesting. In the End was the first song I hated from them. It's too generic and follows the basic formula they always used to use (rap verse, chorus, verse, chorus, screaming bridge, chorus). I got tired of hearing it. Last edited by Kriff; 05-05-2007 at 05:38 AM. |

What song are you talking about exactly? Given Up is the loudest song on the album. Qwerty isn't on the album. I definitely like the new album a lot more than their old stuff. It was like they pulled out a thesaurus and used Hybrid Theory to write the lyrics to Meteora.
