C++ is a great language, again so are many other languages that are available to learn with a lot of education resources and support.

Just remember that the stronger your math skills are the stronger your programming skills will be. I noticed that after taking calculus, advanced functions, data management, and 3d Math (still learning) that programming became much easier.

More and more schools are starting to remove the calculus program and leave it for universities/colleges to teach, I recommend that if you enjoy mathematics and show strength in the subject, as well as physics, that your push yourself in the courses and study hard. If you really enjoy programming and consider it a possible career choice, I highly recommend you take as many mathematics and physics courses that are available to you. One of the best courses I ever took throughout high school were the math functions/advanced functions courses, and calculus if its available to you.

Absolutely. I was one of those shmucks in highschool who said "when am I ever gonna need to know this in real life"... open mouth, insert foot.

Programming is essentially the language math would speak, were it a person. It uses the same terminology, such as Functions, Variables, Arguments, Assignments, etc.

Learn as much as you can about math and you're already half-way through learning programming.

i just add above.
u may not find math on the beggining create game. but in next step u will face math problem like calculate hp, time and soon
oh yeah.. learn just one only. if happen you must learn a lot.. u will not reach the advance from that languages

i suggest vb but C++ is much better... it just takes time... time...
no offense.. VB perhaps simple but it have weakness. to know the weakness u must learn it and then find it. but if you don't find any.. that allright.

i read from other book. if you build a massive aplication, u can use C++ but it happen small.. try C instead.
